You could say construction is in my blood. My Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Father owned construction companies. My Brother works as a fuel depot project manager for Defense Logistics Agency, so, you could say I decided to follow the family tradition.
After high school I worked full time and went to school part time. After completing an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology from J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, I felt a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University would give me the knowledge to better serve and communicate with clients.
After school I wanted to branch out to make a name for myself. I earned my real estate license and worked as an assistant for 2 years learning the business. I then decided to run my own real estate business once I felt comfortable with the contracts and procedures. I earned the 100% Club Award as a RE/MAX agent for 6 years and Platinum Award winner for 2 years. I loved real estate but always had the desire to own, fix up and sell my own properties. While a real estate agent I personally fixed up and sold 4 homes as well as 2 houses I lived in.
As a kid I loved to fish. This became more than a hobby after my first trip offshore. Visiting the Outer Banks to fish just wasn’t enough. Through hard work and a desire to live at the beach, I made it happen in 2010.
I’m excited to be part of the Macko OBX Construction team and look forward to working with our wonderful clients.
